1. How long does it take after signup to connect to the 3G Wireless service?
3G Wireless services are generally activated within 2-3 business days.
2. What is the procedure to setup the service on my computer?
To connect to our 3G Service, all you need to do is plug the USB 3G Modem into your computer and follow the prompts. It will install the software for you and put an icon on your desktop that you can use to connect to the Internet.
The modem will connect to the closest available tower and at the connection speed that suits your current operating environment
3. How much coverage is available?
Currently our wholesaler has covered 96% of Australia and this coverage continues to grow. Our wholesaler expects to expand its network to cover 99% of Australia�s population in the next few years. There is no guarantee on coverage as it depends on many more factors that just residing in the coverage zone.
4. What speeds can I achieve on this service?
Speeds will vary significantly depending on congestion, location, local conditions, hardware, software, and general internet traffic. There are several factors that may affect speeds such as distance from the mobile phone tower, the capacity and load on the mobile phone tower, the network currently in selection (GSM, 3G/HSPA), your hardware and software, the source of your download/upload, and general internet traffic. The service is furthermore subject to network availability.

6. What are the payment options for this service?
Currently our accepted payment methods for our 3G Broadband service are Direct Debit and Credit Card.
7. If I don't download all my allocated data in one month, does it roll over?
Any unused data cannot be rolled over.
8. What is the delivery charge for the modem?
Our postage and handling cost is $15.00 per modem or $5.00 if you choose No Modem (which we will then post the SIM Card out to you).
9. Is SMS available on this service?
Yes. SMS is activated on your 3G Broadband service. You may send an SMS for 25 cents per 160 character message within Australia. You may also send SMS's Internationally for 75c per 160 character message.
10. If I download more than the allocated allowance per month what happens?
You will be charged at the excess rate. The excess rate is dependent on which plan you choose and is displayed on our plans page.
11. Is it possible for me to put the SIM card from the 3G Modem into my mobile phone?
Yes. If your handset is compatible with 3G Internet then you will be able to use it like you would on your computer. You are also able to send and receive SMS's from your phone (these are charged at the applicable rates depending on your rate plan). However, we don't support the use of this method; we leave it up to the tech savvy.
12. I have an existing 3G Broadband Modem. Can I use it on your service?
It is a possibility, however to ensure it is compatible please advise our technical support team of the brand, model and if the modem is locked to the previous carrier network. You can contact our technical support team at: support@comcen.com.au .
13. Can I play online games on this service?
Yes. It can definitely be used to play online games. However we don't recommend this service for games which use heavy bandwidth as it may increase your ping times.
14. What operating systems are supported by your 3G Modems?
Current Supported Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows 7 32bit (E169 and E160E)
- Microsoft Windows Vista 32bit (E220, E169 and E160E) & Vista 64bit (E160E and E169 only)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional (SP1, SP2, SP3) - XP 64bit is NOT supported
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (SP1, SP2, SP3) - XP 64bit is NOT supported
- Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP3, SP4)
- Macintosh OSX10.4 or above (Software/Firmware may be required for some models of modem). Mac OSX10.6 is NOT supported with the E169 and E220 at this stage.
